Job Summary
Responsible for conducting and documenting moderately complex internal audits and risk assessments. Verifies accuracy and ensures compliance with plans, policies and procedures prescribed by management. Prepares reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, and makes recommendations as appropriate. Tests and documents the financial and operating system processes for information integrity of transaction documents.
A Technical IT Auditor II works in teams to perform independent assessments of Sprint IT, operational and financial processes which may include IT functions, dependencies or data analytics. Serving Sprint management and the Audit Committee of Sprint s Board of Directors, audit teams partner with client departments to assess, analyze and solve critical business issues, seeking opportunities to increase revenues and decrease costs. The results of the Auditors efforts serve as a catalyst for change throughout Sprint.
Through exposure to numerous business processes, organizations and the related IT systems, Auditors develop a global view of Sprint and the telecommunications industry. IT Auditor IIs are assigned to approximately 4-8 audits/projects per year and can expect limited travel (approximately 5-10% of the time). In addition, IT Auditor IIs will have the opportunity to participate in special projects. IT Auditor IIs will contribute ideas to help shape the strategic direction and approach of the audit and are expected to contribute specifically to the more technical aspects. IT Auditor IIs will own a segment of the audit, conduct interviews with segment owners, and walkthrough and document the process of their segment. They will perform process-level risk assessments, program development, and detailed testing of established controls.
IT Auditor II focuses on IT systems, their respective processes, and data mining analytics. IT Auditor II will document system information obtained in the process within work papers, flowcharts, graphs or other forms that effectively communicate information and results. Finally, IT Auditor IIs will have opportunities to assist in drafting audit reports and in presenting results to various levels of management. Tier: Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years related work experience or six years related work experience post high school
  • Two years analytical business experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal Candidate:
  • Undergraduate or Master s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or other related field.
  • CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA, or CFE certifications encouraged
  • 2+ years experience in the following areas: IT Auditing, Information/Cyber Security, System Administration, Network Administration, Business Process Improvement, Operations, or other related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT Management Guidance/Frameworks such as COBIT, ISO, ITIL, SANS, and COSO 2013.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills, proactive approach in communicating issues. The ability to articulate effectively in both oral and written formats to all levels of management.
  • Ability to identify risks and controls.
  • Experience in evaluating risks within business processes and the supporting IT functions.
  • Capable of analyzing and evaluating complex processes and IT systems and then communicating the results in an easy to understand message for a non-technical audience.
