Job Overview:

The Senior Manager, Marketing Automation - Americas Small and Midsize Business will shape the strategy for marketing automation programs and database segmentation for new business, existing customers and channel partners for the SMN business unit, which targets businesses up to 1000 employees. The ideal candidate will be an effective collaborator, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a growth-hacking mindset with deep Marketo and Salesforce experience.

This role is responsible for advising on and developing marketing automation programs that address key business opportunities and drive breakthrough impact in terms of marketing qualified leads, sales working pipeline, revenue, and return on investment. Strategic thinking, ability to uncover insights from data, and continuous testing and optimization will be needed to surpass targets.

As a member of the SMN Process & Insights team, the Senior Manager, Marketing Automation is integral to the vision of the business unit and building a predictable, efficient, scalable growth engine. This role reports to the Director, Process & Insights - US SMN Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage database strategy including data acquisition, list segmentation, data cleanliness and integrity within Salesforce and Marketo databases - building a roadmap for data management improvements.
  • Use data and insights to help optimize lead scoring models.
  • Nurture subject matter expert advising on and helping develop high-impact lead nurturing strategy for new business, client and channel marketing to support revenue targets and breakthrough growth goals.
  • Innovate, pilot, build, test and optimize marketing automation programs that accelerate prospects through the demand funnel and provide a great buyer and customer experience.
  • First line systems troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with Marketing Operations to improve lead delivery times.
  • Work closely with Field Services, Sales Operations and Marketing Operations to ensure visibility into changes to data architecture and lead workflow.
  • Partner with marketers to identify target accounts for account based marketing strategies.
  • Partner with Process Improvement Manager to evaluate technology and process change impact.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across teams, in a matrixed environment, to support critical priorities across products and customer sub-segments.
  • Innovate other scalable approaches to driving revenue growth (ie growth-hack).

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience & Training required:

  • 5+ years in a marketing position with expertise in marketing automation/lead nurturing and B2B demand generation.
  • Marketo-certified with deep Salesforce.com experience.
  • Deep understanding and experience of how data work flows push/update within marketing technology systems.
  • Experience in business to business marketing of cloud or high technology products or services preferred.
  • Growth marketing/customer acquisition expertise, with competence across analytics, A/B testing, business modeling.
  • BA/BS in Marketing or equivalent experience; MBA strongly preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

    Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • An understanding of selling cycles and product lifecycles and the pressure they place on the marketing organization to drive demand and revenue.
  • CRM and marketing automation best practice knowledge and experience.
  • Expertise in lead, and customer marketing automation - building, managing and optimizing nurture and trigger programs in Marketo.
  • Deep understanding of customer acquisition and retention strategies, with expertise in email marketing.
  • Proven business thinker with the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively.
  • Experience with marketing list and data vendors, and vendor management.
  • Comfort with analytics and uncovering insights from data.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective at coordinating efforts across diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for delighting customers in pursuit of achieving aggressive business goals.
