Children s Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a paid Spring Intern- IT GRC Analyst to work 40 hours a week Feb-May. The Information IT GRC Intern will support Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Analysts. This includes providing assistance with processing of policy exception requests and preparation/editing of ad hoc risk assessments. The intern will devise and document new procedures and assist with the development and modification of IT policies, guidelines, and standards.


  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Security, Information Systems


  • No professional certifications required


  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative
  • Schooling, Internship or other experience relating to information security
  • Strong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Solid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with emphasis on Word and Excel

The Information Security (GRC) Intern will:

  • Processes policy exception submitted by users
  • Reviews ad hoc risk assessments against established standards and provide input on suggested changes
  • Assists with the preparation of and modification to IT policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Communicates with users via phone and email to complete assigned tasks, providing excellent customer service
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Tracks key performance indicators


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
